A HIKING WE WILL GO

“I have loved (him),
my little wanderer,
with a mind full of
wild forests and
eyes that await
adventures.”
-Conny Cernik

Fall is officially here and the outdoor adventures don’t stop, they just get tweaked with the addition of clothing layers and always: a change of scenery.

On our hike we got to catch right before the leaves started to morph from their summer colors into burnt oranges, bright yellows, and vibrant reds. Enjoy this visual gallery of my afternoon with my little man --- where we found beautiful trails and tree trunk shelters that sparked the imagination to go to the lands where explorers escape and to visualize the stunning mystical creatures that make their homes in tree-trunks. Where the light rays shoot through the tree covered skies and if you’re really quiet, you can hear it speak with tenderness, warmth and love.

VALENTINE'S DAY PORTRAIT MAILBOXES 📬

Kids DIY Projects - VALENTINES DAY PORTRAIT MAILBOXES - All Kids Are Gifted

DIY PROJECTS

I wanted to throw an idea out there that I came up with starting from my husband and I's very first Valentine's Day together. Before my husband and I had our boys I would set up a little mailbox for each of us where we would write fourteen things that we loved about each other, fourteen things for the fourteen days in February before Valentine's Day. It became a fun little thing to open on Valentine's Day either before our date or after, I myself was excited to see what what he would come up with on those little notes. This definitely makes me feel special every year and reading those words of affirmation/love notes coming from my husband really make me happy. Especially when I'm having a rough day and I'm exhausted, opening that little mailbox here and there always puts a smile on my face.

After babies I decided, why not keep up the now tradition and make little mailboxes for them as well? We started the tradition with them last year and I decided to decorate our boys mailbox with a picture of each of them. In the past I had always just written our names on the front but I really liked the visual effect that their picture had. Plus how adorable are they?! On Valentine's Day before Mama + Daddy went out for our dinner date, I read the fourteen things (even though there's tons more) that I LOVE about each of my babies. They loved it! Our oldest giggled the whole time and I could tell it made him feel really special, our youngest didn't really understand but he laughed along with his brother which is adorable! Here's the recap of our mailboxes from last year! I'm excited to share the ones I've come up with for this year as Valentine's Day draws closer!

You could make these for Valentine's Day or any occasion really, this year I have already started including the boys even more and having them write (I'll be writing for our youngest!) a few things they love about Mama + Daddy and each other.

* Mailboxes from Target * Look for them in the dollar spot section, they offer super cute ones every season!

TEA CUP SUCCULENT PLANTERS 🌱

Our family attended a friends babyshower not too long ago  and one of the (super cute) activities they had for the guests was to paint the most adorable little teacup planters. Of course my boys and I were all over that project! I didn't document the painting process since we weren't at home but here's a picture of the finished product. Can you guess which was painted by who?

MESSY LEVEL: 2
Painting the ceramic planters can get a little messy, as can the planting of the succulents. Yay for creative messes!

SUPPLIES:

  • Ceramic teacup planters
  • Acrylic paint

We adore how these turned out and have been waiting to plant some cute succulents (my fave) into them. This afternoon was so beautiful and sunny so we decided to go out to our back deck and make the planting happen.

// "Mama take a picture with my boots in it PLEASE!!!!" Can't say no to that! There you have it, apparently kids LOVE to help give plants a new home so I highly suggest including them if you're planning on doing any gardening/adding plants to your living space. Have fun planting! 🌱
